This course is 1 credit hour.
The course seeks to establish an understanding of the theological foundation of discipleship, teach and train in the meaning, message and the practical methods of making disciples. To be undertaken also is a study of evangelism and related contemporary issues – world religions, cross-cultural Gospel communication, social concern, social responsibility and contemporary theologies related to diciplemaking and church planting.
Besides the classroom work occupying the first part of the course, there will be guided practical sessions of actual evangelistic outreaches to the neighboring urban and peri-urban communities, cross-cultural outreach and personal involvement in and evaluation of an established evangelistic organization. The substance of these practical sessions will provide the content material for further classroom discussions, evaluation and a ministry report paper.
