“We are excited that Christians of all ages can increase their knowledge of Scripture and theology by earning an MAS Certificate in Christian Studies from anywhere!”
Perhaps you live or work in the area, but with traffic you could never make it to the North Campus in time for class. No problem! Take one or two courses on Tuesday nights via Zoom. Or, maybe you prefer the physical classroom experience. If so, then join us on Monday nights at the North Campus location.
Have a thirst to deepen your knowledge of the bible? Ever wished you had a better understanding of God and where you fit in? What if you had a mentor you could spend quality one on one time with exploring God and life?
We designed the Certificate in Christian Studies just for you! The program can be completed in one year but if your schedule is limited, make it two. For three terms you will have that mentor to walk with you. The Certificate in Christian Studies includes the following courses:
- Doctrine of Scripture
- Old Testament Survey
- New Testament Survey
- God, Man and Sin
- Person and Work of Christ
- Making and Equipping Disciples
- Your choice of either Teaching and Learning or Sermon Preparation
Each of these courses, taught by the Metro Atlanta Seminary faculty, are the same courses taken in the first year of our Master of Divinity program. In fact, when you have finished the Certificate program and you decide you want to keep going, just keep going!
“We think this program provides a well rounded curriculum for leaders in the church. It is a great opportunity and contains great content for ruling elders and deacons as well as others in full or part time ministry in the church.”
For classes and class times, follow this link to the “Academic Calendar.“
Whether or not classes will be held on Monday and Tuesday evenings will be based on total registrations. MAS reserves the right to move the “online” portion to Monday as part of the in person class. For the Summer and Fall Terms (2021-2022) online classes will be Monday night along with the in-class students. A decision regarding Winter and Spring Terms (whether Monday or Tuesday) will be made in December.
