Let’s go to Israel

This picture was during the MAS trip in May 2019.  In 2020 we are arranging two trips!

Would you consider, pray and maybe ask the question, “If not now when?”

The old Celtic saying is that “Heaven and earth are only three feet apart, but in the thin places, they are closer.” Israel is a “thin place” and we have the joy, through Metro Atlanta Seminary to lead two groups to Israel this summer.

Everyone we have taken over the last three years has said it was life changing. Our partners in Israel are fabulous. They have an amazing gift from God that they have refined: they know the geography, the history, the archaeology and the Word of God. They bring it all together. We don’t do the big bus tour thing in Jerusalem. We stay in or very near the Old City. We walk. A LOT. Then we go out into the land and experience it top to bottom.

The picture above is the MAS group that went to Israel in May 2019 led by Jerusalem University College.  During their time in Israel they toured the City of David, Bethlehem, Capernaum, Bethsaida, Caesarea. Nazareth, and Tiberius to name a few.  The group took a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee as well as a dip in the Dead Sea.

Walking where Jesus walked, seeing from the archaeological landscape what the area looked like during that time, adds an invaluable perspective and truly makes the Bible come alive.

UPDATE December 19, 2019 – We have not been able to meet the minimum on the JUC trip to Israel and have had to cancel this trip.  Some of the individuals who registered will be able to participate in the Passages trip described below.  That trip is now full.  Please check for this page next year regarding trips in 2021.  Thank you!

We have also been invited to be one of the seminaries that will be coordinating trips with “Passages”.   We estimate the total cost of this trip will be $1,500 including airfare to the one of the gateway cities (New York and Miami). This trip will be for younger students (under 40) and the group will be limited to 15 students.  We will collect a list of students interested and able to participate from which we will narrow down to the final group.

“Passages offers Christian college students with leadership potential a fresh and innovative approach to experiencing the Holy Land. Participants will encounter the roots of their Biblical faith first-hand and come face to face with the modern-day miracle that is Israel.”  For more information go to www.passagesisrael.org    If you are a student be sure to get your name on the list by sending an email to admin@metroatlantaseminary.org.
